Q&A with Dale Gurr
Where are you from originally and where do you live now?Born and raised in Portsmouth & I live in Portsmouth at the moment.
Please tell us about your story and why you do what you do.My story has some weird and wonderful experiences inside it, along side them are some strange and intimidating experiences as well! The things that I were doing in life didn't seem to fill me with any compassion or gratitude, so I began to search for more and that's when Meditation came to me. After a few years of practicing Meditation, I wanted to be able to take the practice deeper, I wanted more of an understanding of what was happening to me during meditation, why certain thought patterns arouse and why my senses heightened to a point where the body began to tremble and so I searched on Google and Yoga came up. Yoga was something that I had never really considered doing before until I realised that Yoga had lots of fun things that I wanted to know more about ... Chakras, Breath-Work Techniques, Meditation, Universal Consciousness and so on. Before I knew it I was in my mum's front room with 'Yoga With Adrianne' on the big screen and I had borrowed one of my mum's yoga mats, 5 minutes into the practice I couldn't help but laugh with joy for no other reason than feeling amazing, which was something I hadn't felt since I was a kid. Those kind of feelings are some of the most special feelings to have, especially being an adult!!! From that moment I was hooked and I didn't stop practicing. Which then led me to Rishikesh to complete my 200hr training which then lead to teaching, so I guess why I teach is to give people space to feel free again from normality and maturity that and alongside the mental and physical benefits that come from yoga and meditation. And also to maybe give someone the opportunity to experience something greater than themselves, or release some un-needed baggage they have sub-consciously been dragging around with them 😊😂.
How do you look after your physical and mental health ?Daily Meditation & Yoga for both my mental and physical health. Painting, Drawing, Walking, Reminiscing, Challenging, Allowing, Skateboarding & connecting. Playing.
Tell us one of your life hacks. One meditation a day keeps the psychiatrist away 😏
